Hi. My name is Martha McMinn.
The most important thing for you to know is that while I love writing other people’s bios, I am not comfortable writing my own. And when I am uncomfortable I try to make jokes. So, you mustn’t take this seriously, even though I just said “mustn’t.”
I was raised in the suburbs of Due West, SC. I am in love with my pastor. His name is Mike and we have a son who is in college, Alex; a daughter who is a teacher, Kinsley; a brand new son-in-law, Logan; a beloved German Shepherd, Samson; and a tolerable rescue mutt, Willow. Just kidding. Willer Girl is my forever favorite, my underdog extraordinaire, my Wonder Willa, my Bill for short (because if we can do that for William...)
I graduated from a college, favorite courses having been Logic, Philosophy, Economics, and Business Law, respectively. This was a long time ago, but it seems like something I should tell you as I would not want you to accidentally tell me a dumb blond joke. “You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry.” Anyone? David Banner circa 1978? I see that hand. Along that vein, may I also say that I work in finance by day and love reading, writing (frequent improper use of parenthesis, ellipses, dashes, and conjunctions notwithstanding), hiking, water activities, sports, and most any outdoor adventure.
My first love though is Jesus Christ and I have a passion for inviting others into a real, personal, and life altering relationship with Him. I ask you in my best Col. Nathan Jessep voice, “Is there any other kind?” My email is below if you want to chat about that. I am here if you need me. In theory. But I am just a person. I’m as ordinary of a person that can exist, in fact. I hold no secrets on life. Really, I am just writing about some things that I am in awe of— like all of the wonders He has shown me in this life that I don’t want to forget (Nehemiah 9:17, since you asked). Because I really like this new life He gave me -slash- can’t believe I wasted so much time in the old one -slash- as a middle child of 5, I am very used to sharing things.
Ok, that’s it.
